Virtual DoReMe&You

DoReMe&You
Early Childhood Music Program

2022 Update: DRMY is not enrolling at this time. Stay tuned for our return! In the meantime, you can enjoy our recordings on YouTube or follow us on Instagram @strongwaterstudios

DoReMe&You is a developmental music therapy program for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers, facilitated by Peri Strongwater, MA, MT-BC. Peri is a certified music therapist and will be facilitating these musical activities to support growth and development in your child!

Groups will run like music education groups, but rather than focusing on the music production and musical skills as the main goal, groups will focus on specific developmental goals such as listening, turn-taking, respecting peers, self-expression, cooperation, and many more.

The approaches in this model are research-driven based on the developmental stage of the children.

Can I join the Zoom group without downloading the app? YES! When you click the link to join the meeting, it will ask you to download the application – but if you wait a moment, the following message will appear in smaller text “If you cannot download or run the application, join from your browser” and you can click the link there to join from your internet browser. However, it is recommended to download the app to your phone, tablet or computer to ensure higher audio/visual quality.

Are Zoom-based DoReMe&You programs recorded? Sometimes. We will announce if we are recording at the beginning of each session. If you do not want to be in a recording, please turn off your video. Click "Stop Video" on the bottom left corner of the Zoom screen.

Is it a private meeting? Only people with the link and password can access the session. Please do not share the Zoom link with anyone. If you have friends who want to join, please have them register or email strongwaterstudios@gmail.com.

Do you offer this program in real life? DoReMe&You used to run in the beautiful Canopy Room at the ultra-hip Bow Market in Union Square, Somerville, MA 02143. The Canopy Room has tragically closed due to the COVID pandemic so we are currently searching for our next location. Let us know if you know anywhere!
